Lampard Gives credit to Cole

Centurion Ashley Cole will captain England against Ireland at Wembley on Wednesday, and team-mate Frank Lampard believes the defender is fully deserving of the honour. Cole, who made his 100th appearance against Brazil in February, will win his 102nd cap tomorrow night, wearing the armband in the absence of regular captain Steven Gerrard, while Lampard, the regular vice-captain, will win his 96th.

Marco Van Ginkel to Chelsea?

Chelsea are set to make Marco van Ginkel the first signing of Jose Mourinho's second spell at Stamford Bridge. A deal has already been put in place to bring the Netherlands Under-21s international, one of the finest emerging talents in Dutch football, from Vitesse this summer to strengthen the Blues' midfield. Van Ginkel was central to Vitesse's success in finishing fourth in the Eredivisie and qualifying for next season's Europa League.

Luka Modric:- Chelsea or Man Utd?

United and Chelsea were linked with Modric last summer before he completed a £33million move from Tottenham to Real Madrid. But the midfielder has failed to impress at the Bernabeu, and recent reports in Spain have suggested the player who was voted the worst La Liga signing of 2012 could seek a move at the end of the season. Modric is believed he is open to a return to England should Los Blancos decide to sell, and according to The Sun, Chelsea-bound manager Jose Mourinho wants to take the playmaker to Stamford Bridge with him.

Fernando Torres: I am excited to join new strikers

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is confident that he is ready for the challenge of next season despite the likelihood of "big players" giving him competition for a striking berth.

The Spaniard scored 23 goals for the Blues across all competitions in 2012-13 but, after the arrival of Demba Ba in January, only netted once in the Premier League, on the last day of the season.

Cavani to Chelsea: seems like a done deal

Atletico Madrid SuperstarRadamel Falcao appears to be off to Monaco, taking a ridiculous amount of money in exchange for wasting the best remaining seasons of his career. Monaco look like they'll build a Ligue 1 challenger in very short order, but they are still a newly-rich project that likely won't compete on the biggest stages in the sport until Falcao is well past his prime.
Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski also appears to be leaving his current club in the near future, but he's all but certain to be joining Dortmund's arch-rivals, Bayern Munich. Chelsea could probably make a great deal with Lewandowski to make him join the Blues.

Chelsea in 2012/13: A season preview!!

Last season was a dream season for Chelsea F.C. Of course, their ‘revolutionary’ manager Andre Villas Boas was sacked. Of course they finished the Premier League in sixth place, below Newcastle. But come the morning of 20th May 2012, it was all forgotten.
